Oldies but Goodies:

Lolita, 1962

Everyone should get a good dose of old school movies every once and awhile. I am a frequent viewer of TCM (Turner Classic Movies) and I always catch the most interesting films. When I came across the movie Lolita I was surprised that such a risky story was filmed back in the day.

It's about a man who marries a landlord to get closer to her daughter, her very young daughter I might add. They carry on a very inappropriate relationship for awhile and...well I don't wanna tell you the movie, see it for yourself. It's based from the book Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov, and according to Wikipedia the movie is a very toned down version of the book. Good movie, check it out.

The Awful Truth, 1937

The Awful Truth is a comedy I caught on TCM, and it was about a not so monogamous married couple who decided to get a divorce. They get themselves into all sorts of awkward situations and through it all have a change of heart. Aside from the funny story line, I would've watched just to see the clothes. Lucy Warriner played by Irene Dunne was dressed to the nines throughout the whole movie. PETA was definitely not in effect back then, because all the women were dripping in fabulous furs. Another classic must see movie.
